Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu,, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will be holding a “Nepal Sanctuary Treks” sign outside the terminal to greet you.

You will be transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. After checking in and freshening up, our representative will meet you to give a detailed briefing on the upcoming itinerary, along with important safety guidelines and hygiene practices to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trek.

Day 02: Cultural Introductory Tour and Trek Preparation

Kathmandu Durbar Square
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (Hanuman Dhoka Durbar), a historical royal complex with temples, palaces, and shrines dating back to the 15th century. Key attractions include Kumari Ghar (the house of the living goddess) and Kasthamandap, built from a single tree.

Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple)
Next, head to Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, a sacred site for both Hinduism and Buddhism. Admire the stunning white dome and golden spire, while soaking in the serene atmosphere filled with incense and prayer wheels.

PM: Boudhanath Stupa

As you arrive at Shivalaya, the village known as the gateway to Everest, you’ll be greeted by the tranquility of the area, making it the perfect base to rest and recharge for your upcoming trek.

Day 04: Trek to Bhandar

After breakfast, begin your trek toward Bhandar, a peaceful village in the Everest region. The trail meanders through rhododendron and oak forests, offering tranquil surroundings, grazing cattle, and charming village scenery.

The route first climbs to Sangbadanada (2,150 m / 7,054 ft) and continues upward to Deurali Pass (2,705 m / 8,875 ft). Along the way, cross streams and encounter Tibetan Buddhist Mani walls intricately carved with sacred mantras. From the pass, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of peaks including Dudh Kunda Himal, Khatanga, Karylung, and Pikey Peak.

The trek concludes with a descent through vibrant rhododendron clusters, leading to the outskirts of Bhandar, where your tea house awaits for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Trek to Sete

We start by descending from Bhandar through lush, shaded forests, crossing several mountain streams and passing the quiet settlement of Dokharpa. The path then leads us into the picturesque Likhu Khola Valley, where we cross a second suspension bridge before beginning a steady ascent toward Kenja, a small village resting at the foot of the Lamajura La pass. From this point, the climb becomes steeper, gradually opening up to views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks. After a few hours of continuous ascent, we reach Chimbu. Following the right-hand trail from here, we continue for another two hours to arrive at the serene village of Sete, where we spend the night in a local tea house surrounded by peaceful forested hills and mountain scenery.

Day 06: Trek to Junbesi via Lamjura La Pass

We begin with a steady climb through forests of pine, magnolia, and rhododendron, passing the villages of Dagchu and Goyem before reaching Lamjura La Pass (3,530 m / 11,581 ft.), the highest point on the Jiri–Namche route. After enjoying the mountain views, we descend through woodland trails to Tragdobuk and continue to the scenic Sherpa village of Junbesi, known for its peaceful atmosphere and traditional charm.

Day 07: Rest day explore Thupdten Chholing Monastery above Junbesi Village

After breakfast, we take a well-deserved rest day in Junbesi, one of the most culturally rich and scenic villages in the Solu region. This peaceful break offers time to explore nearby monasteries, traditional Sherpa homes, and surrounding forested hills.

A highly recommended side trip is the hike to Thubten Chholing Monastery, one of the largest and most spiritually significant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Nepal. Founded in the 1960s by the revered Lama Trulsik Rinpoche, the monastery became a sanctuary for monks and nuns fleeing Tibet. Even today, it remains an active monastic community where dozens of Anis (nuns) and monks live in quiet meditation.

The trail to Thubten Chholing starts near Junbesi Gompa, following the west bank of the Junbesi Khola upstream. After passing a Chorten and the Mopung powerhouse, we cross to the east bank and begin a gentle climb up the ridge to the monastery. The complex is surrounded by small retreat huts used for long-term meditation. After soaking in the tranquil, spiritual ambiance of Thubten Chholing, we retrace our steps back to Junbesi for a relaxing evening at the lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Nunthala via Takshindo La Pass

Today’s trail offers the first views of Mt. Everest. After crossing a stream near Junbesi, we ascend through forested slopes with sights of Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Thamserku, and Mera Peak. Reaching Salung, we descend to Ringmo before climbing to Trakshindo La (2,930 m / 9,612 ft). From the pass, a long forested descent leads us to the village of Nunthala.

Day 09: Trek to Bupsa

The climb leads through terraced farmlands and the villages of Jubing and Churkha, where you follow narrow paths and stone steps often shared with mule caravans before continuing toward Bupsa.

Day 10: Trek to Surkhe

By evening we reach Surkhe, a peaceful village below Lukla airstrip, ideal for rest and acclimatization. Overnight at a local teahouse.

Day 11: Trek to Monjo

The trail becomes busier with trekkers, porters, and pack animals as we continue through scenic mountains, ending at Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. Overnight at a cozy teahouse.

Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Its market, tea shops, and lodges provide a perfect spot to rest, acclimatize, and enjoy Sherpa culture. Overnight stay at a local teahouse.

Day 13: Acclimatization day in Namche

Start with a short hike above Namche to enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest. Hiking to the nearby villages not only offers stunning views but also help your body acclimate before you venture higher toward Everest Base Camp.

We hike to the picturesque village of Khumjung, a hidden gem in the Khumbu region. Khumjung is home to a monastery said to house a Yeti scalp, the historic Hillary School founded in 1961, and charming homes with signature green roofs. This cultural stop enriches your Everest journey, blending natural beauty with Sherpa heritage.

After exploring Khumjung, we trek back to Namche Bazaar, completing a rewarding day of acclimatization and cultural discovery.

Day 14: Trek to Phortse

Altitude: 3,810 m/12,500 ft.- Phortse

After breakfast, we leave Namche and climb steadily toward Mong La Pass (3,975 m/13,045 ft). The steep ascent rewards trekkers with panoramic views of Ama Dablam and Khumbila. Lunch is enjoyed at the pass with stunning Himalayan scenery.

Afterward, the trail descends to the river valley before climbing again to Phortse, a traditional Sherpa village rich in culture and natural beauty. Along the way, you may see mountain goats or Nepal’s national bird, the colorful Himalayan Monal. Overnight in a cozy tea house.

Day 15: Trek to Dingboche

Leaving Phortse, we take the scenic high trail through rocky hills, passing traditional Sherpa villages like Pangboche, home to an ancient monastery with sacred sculptures and ritual masks.

Lunch is at Shomare (4,120 m/13,517 ft), with chances to spot musk deer, mountain goats, and birds. Stunning views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Mount Everest accompany the trek.

From Shomare, we climb the glacial valley to Dingboche, passing prayer stones and arriving at a peaceful village with a Buddhist stupa, nestled beneath Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks. Overnight in a cozy tea house.

Day 16: Acclimatization and hike day at Dingboche

Today you will spend an acclimatization day in Dingboche, allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude. These shorter hikes are essential for ensuring your safety and comfort as you continue higher toward Everest Base Camp.

A short, rewarding 3-hour hike takes you to Nangkartshang Hill, situated above Dingboche on the edge of the Chukkung Valley. From this viewpoint, enjoy panoramic vistas of peaks such as Lobuche East (6,119 m), Lobuche West (6,145 m), Kangtega (6,685 m), Taboche (6,367 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), and Ama Dablam (6,856 m). This scenic spot is perfect for photography and reflection.

Chukung Village Hike: 4,730 m / 15,518 ft.; 5–6 hrs. approx. (5 km / 3.1 mi); 430 m / 1,411 ft. ascent, 13 m / 43 ft. descent
For a longer trek, head toward Chukung Village, a key stop for trekkers on the way to Island Peak. The 5–6 hour hike offers spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, and other Himalayan giants. Chukung is a quiet village that provides insight into the traditional Sherpa lifestyle.

Day 17: Trek to Lobuche

After an early breakfast, your trek begins with a gradual ascent across a plateau dotted with yak herder shelters. The trail offers stunning views of iconic peaks including Everest, Cholatse, Lobuche, and Pumori, creating a dramatic alpine landscape.

After roughly two and a half hours of steady hiking, you will arrive at Thukla, located beneath the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, the highest glacier in the world. From here, the path climbs the moraine, passing the Climber and Sherpa Memorial, which honors those who have lost their lives on Everest. Some memorials feature inscriptions recounting heroic efforts, while others are simple cairns, commemorating unsung adventurers.

As you leave the tree line behind, the trail enters the expansive glacial moraine, where the landscape becomes rugged and surreal. Here, you will catch your first glimpse of Kala Patthar, a famous viewpoint offering one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest. The trail then gradually descends into the Lobuche Valley, where you can rest and reflect on the awe-inspiring journey ahead.

Day 18: Trek to Gorak Shep – Everest Base camp - Gorakhshep

Day 19: Hike to Kalapathar- Descend to Pheriche

Day 20: Trek to Namche

After breakfast, start your trek from the alpine landscape of Pheriche (4,371 m / 14,334 ft.). The trail initially winds downhill along the Imja Khola, passing through villages like Pangboche, before steadily climbing through rhododendron and conifer forests toward the spiritual center of Tengboche Monastery (3,860 m / 12,664 ft.). From here, enjoy panoramic views of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers and watch for wildlife such as Tahr, Goral, and musk deer.

The area is also home to a variety of birds, including yellow-billed choughs and black ravens. If trekking in October–November, you may witness the vibrant Mani Rimdu Festival at Tengboche Monastery.

From Tengboche, the trail descends sharply to the Dudh Koshi River at Phunki Thagna (3,250 m / 10,663 ft.), where you cross a suspension bridge. The final stretch is a long, steep climb to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft.), the bustling Sherpa town built into a natural amphitheater on the hillside.
