Trip Overview

Besisahar to Beni Trek in Nepal is an amazing trek where it offers beautiful views of the Manaslu and Annapurna Range. Not only this, but you will also get to see views of Dhaulagiri Range and spectacular Mountain views all along the trail. Although the Annapurna region is a very touristic area, most of the Lower GHT doesn’t have many tourists. As you trek, the trail passes through traditional Gurung villages and through beautiful forests.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1,302m/4,270ft)

You will be received and escorted to the hotel by our staff, refresh yourself and take some rest or explore the area around your hotel. Accommodate at Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing and Trek preparation

Kathmandu is the cultural heart of Nepal and has been a famous destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its borders to visitors. Today after breakfast we will explore Kathmandu valley, a guided tour will be conducted to major world heritage sites inside the valley. As Kathmandu valley is a beautiful combination of Hinduism and Buddhism we will visit historical sites like; Durbar Squares, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (monkey temple) and Buddhist shrine of Bouddhanath which is one of the largest stupa in the world. After the tour you will prepare yourself for the trek, will be briefed about the trek; buy all the trekking equipments required and overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Besisahar (760m/2,493ft) 6-7hrs drive

Early morning after breakfast, we will head to Besi Sahar on a private vehicle arranged by the company, a long scenic ride along with few mountain views.  We will meet our accompanying trekking crew there in Besi Sahar, Besisahar is the gateway for couple of treks. There are several restaurants here, we spend our night here.

Day 04: Besisahar to Ghalegaun (2,078m/6,817ft) 6hrs trek

Trek begins! After having an early breakfast we begin to trek. As we leave the town we enter a small trail going straight, after few minutes we reach a dirt road. Following the road we pass a small village of few houses called Bhantok, from here we trek through stairs. We trek through terrace fields and forests, as we go higher we trek through rhododendron forests. The trail gets steeper when we are about to reach at the top of the pass, we are accompanied with beautiful views of Himalayan Ranges along the trail. Just after the pass we will get to see beautiful views of the Himalayan peaks (Lamjung Himal, Manaslu and Himal Chuli). We descend down to the village of Baglung Pani and trek further through flat trail, along the trail you have great views of Manaslu Ranges again and we pass the village of Rapasingh to Kapurgaon, here we can stop for lunch as there are few restaurants here. After lunch the trail gradually ascends through forests and crossing the dirt road few times, about an hour later we will reach Ghalegaon. It is a beautiful Gurung village and a major tourist destination; there are no hotels here as the village is famous for home stay. You will be awarded with beautiful view of mountains from here, we will camp our tents in a suitable place and spend the night here.

Day 05: Ghalegaon to Pasgaun 6hrs trek

Today is another beautiful trek day through Gurung villages and along with spectacular mountain views. After having breakfast we leave Ghalegaun we cross a soccer field and enter a dirt road, as we follow the road we cross the village of Nayun and right after a small Buddhist monastery. The trail gradually descends through forests to the gate of Bhujung, we continue to trek further down following the trail down through the village and continue going down on the stone stairs, all the way to a suspension bridge over MIdim Khola. After crossing the bridge the trail gradually climbs towards a pass. We trek through a beautiful mixed alpine forest, as we reach at the top of the pass you will be rewarded with beautiful views of Manaslu, Himal Chuli and Nadi Chuli. From here we begin to descend and within about an hour of descending we will reach the village of Pasgaun, it is also a famous village for home stay program and has a monastery where you can visit. We will camp our tents here and rest the night.

Day 06: Pasgaun to Bhachok (1,314m/4,311ft) 5hrs trek

We have our breakfast in the camp and begin to trek. We follow the trail going down through the village and enter a flat trail. As we then leave the village the trail descends steeply towards Rudi Khola, we cross a suspension bridge over the river. After crossing the river we trek through a flat path passing by the small settlement of Bagaincha and right after the village we cross another suspension bridge after which the trail goes down at first and flat. Continuing to trek we enter a dirt trail, as we follow the dirt trail with few shortcuts in between we reach the village of Rabaidada. About an hour from here we arrive at the Gurung village of Nagidahr, we can stop here for lunch. After lunch we continue trekking through the dirt trail and descend steeply, after few minutes the trail gets flatter and soon it gradually ascends to Bhachok. Along the trail we pass temples and cross a suspension bridge over Bardi Khola and the small settlement of Sundar Besi. Bhachok is another Gurung village; we walk to the upper part of the village where there is a small Durga temple, from here you can see 360 degrees into 5 districts with the Manaslu Range. We will camp our tents here and spend the night.

Day 07: Bhachok to Yangjakot (1,450m/4,757ft) 4-5hrs trek

Today is a comparatively easier trek day. We walk up to the top of the village, leaving village we trek through a flat trail entering the forest and soon ascending through stairs. We reach up to a stupa from where we can see Warchowk and on the next hill Yangjakot. We then trek through the dirt road for some time and again through flat trail taking to the small village of Warchowk. After leaving Warchowk we follow the dirt road and join the trail going up, from a point the trail goes down through a beautiful forest to a bridge over Bhujung Khola. Once we cross the river we ascend steeply to a small house built by former army major to commemorate his 84th birthday. From here the trail descends for some time and then ascends gradually to another Gurung village and today’s destination, Yangjakot. It is quite spread out village with few restaurants and a view point offering views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Machapucchre, Hiunchuli and Annapurna south. We will camp our tents around here in a suitable campsite.

Day 08: Yangjakot to Sikles (1,945ft/6,381ft) 6hrs trek

After having an early breakfast we rejoin the trail; as we leave the village we follow the dirt road, you can see Machapuchre in the front. As we trek we enter a stoned stairs going down, we pass small settlements like Sharchok, Kuskodada and Jyaudu. Just after the village we cross a suspension bridge over Madi Khola, after crossing the river we reach another settlement of Sabi and we have to present our ACAP tickets here in an ACAP check post. We trek through the dirt road following the Madi River; we pass a Hydro power plant construction. We continue trekking to the village of Sondha where we can stop by for lunch, along the trail you will be rewarded with views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. After lunch we continue to trek passing few villages and cross a suspension bridge after which the trail climbs steeply leaving the river far below. Few hours of trekking will then take us to the village of Sikles, it is one of the biggest Gurung villages, and the village is an isolated village of the area where few tourists visit. We will find a suitable camping site and camp our tents here.

Day 09: Sikles to Ghalekharka (1,674m/5,492ft) 6hrs trek

After having breakfast we rejoin the trail; as we begin to trek we walk out of the village passing a health post. Following the dirt road we then enter a beautiful forest, continuing to trek we arrive at some meadows and views of Lamjung Himal behind and Sikles below us. It is a beautiful walk all the way through forest and mostly rhododendron forest, there are no villages and shops on the way. We walk up through forest with mostly rhododendron trees and pass a small waterfall; we come across signpost where there is a choice between Tara Hill and Nyauli Kharka. We follow the trail towards Nyauli Kharka, following the trail we climb higher to arresting point which is the highest point of today’s trek. We will have our lunch we brought with us on the way before we reach here. From here we descend steeply through steep stone stairs to Ghalekharka, we camp our tents and spend the night.

Day 10: Ghalekharka to Lwang (1,440m/4,724ft) 5hrs trek

Today’s trail is relatively easy trek day; we leave Ghalekharka following the trail towards the white stupa. After crossing the stupa we gradually descend through forests to the Gurung village of Khadarjung. From here we descend through the stairs and then through the dirt trail to the village of Burjung Khola, at the end of the village is an ACAP check post, you will have to publish your ACAP entrance permit. After the check post we continue trekking through the dirt trail and we go down to a small trail from where we follow the Seti River downstream, we then cross a bridge over the river. After the bridge we climb the stairs and get back to the dirt trail, along the trail you will have beautiful views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV and Machapuchre. Continuing to trek we pass several villages and cross few bridges which will take us to a small restaurant near Mardi Khola Bridge where we can stop for lunch. After lunch we follow the river upstream, trekking through the fields. We trek to Khoramukh and from here we trek through forest, following the stairs we will soon arrive at the village of Lwang. It is a beautiful Gurung village offering us beautiful views of Mardi Khola and Machapuchre. We will camp our tents here for the night.

Day 11: Lwang to Ghandruk (2,040m/6,692ft) 8hrs trek

Today is a beautiful trek day; you will get to see beautiful views of Annapurna Range. We enter a popular tourist trail, after having an early breakfast we join the trail. As we leave the village after few minutes we reach a grassy area, from here it is an amazing view of Annapurna Range. After this we take the trail going flat, soon the trail enters the forest and ascends gradually for few minutes and then we ascend steeply. We trek through the forest to another view point from where the view of Annapurna is better than the first point; we again trek through the forest area to the village of Pitam Deurali, we can stop here to rest. From here onwards there are many lodges and restaurants on the trail further. From here the trail goes down through the forest to Bichuk Berikharka and then to Tolka and further to Landruk. Along the trail you have beautiful views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, after the village we trek through the stairs going down to Modi Khola. We cross a bridge over the river and reach a small settlement of Kyumi from where we trek to Ghangruk. It is a big Gurung village with several lodges and also an ACAP information centre, the views of Machapuchre, Gaganpurna, Annapurna III, IV and II are better from here. We will spend the night here.

Day 12: Ghandruk to Ghorepani (2,885m/9,465ft) 7hrs trek

Today’s trek is a long trek day but it is not a difficult one. After having an early breakfast we leave Ghandruk climbing gradually through a rhododendron forest and follow the small stream to Bhaisikharka. The trail continues going up through the forest, it is few minutes trek to Tadapani from where we will be awarded with amazing views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchre.

From here we descend to a stream, after crossing the stream we climb again. Ascending uphill we reach Banthanti and we further to Deurali, we trek along a beautiful scenario with high rocks and Pine and Rhododendron forests. From Deurali it is about an hour to Gurung Hill, it is a beautiful view point that offers us majestic views of Annapurna Range and the impressive Dhaulagiri I. From here we descend down to Ghorepani, once we reach there we camp our tents and rest the night.

Day 13: Ghorepani to Poonhill (3,193m/10,475ft) 1-2 hrs trek/ to Tikot (2,278m/7,473ft) 3hrs trek

With an very early rise we will start climbing uphill with a 45 minutes hike to witness the sunrise from Poonhill , after watching a beautiful view of mountains to all the directions of  Poonhill we will return back to Ghorepani for breakfast. After having breakfast from Ghorepani we descend northwards into a rhododendron forest, we arrive at a small suspension bridge after which we climb for few minutes and then begin to descend again. We trek through small trail with beautiful forests to a grassy rest point; we trek up hill and downhill following the sign boards to Tikot. Continuing to trek we pass a small lake known as Braha Tal, we arrive at a Y-junction where we will choose the sandy path taking us to a field that offers amazing views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We descend down through the forests and steep stairs finally to Tikot, a charming village with many Magar people living here. The village is an excellent view point for Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges, we camp our tents here and spend the night.

Day 14: Tikot to Beni 4 hrs trek / to Pokhara 4hrs drive

We have an early breakfast and begin to trek. Today is the last day of our trek; we trek through the dirt trail passing the small settlement of Tikot Besi. We will mostly be trekking through the fields; we cross a suspension bridge over Kali Gandaki and follow the dirt road to Beni. Once we reach Beni we have our lunch here and get on the vehicle organized by the company that will drive us to Pokhara. We will accommodate the night here in Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Early breakfast and pack our bag packs to leave for Kathmandu in private vehicle which has already been organised.  After a long ride we will reach Kathmandu for accommodation.

Day 16: Spare day in Kathmandu

We will wake up late and have a good proper breakfast. You will have the whole day to yourselves to either rest in your hotel or explore Kathmandu valley. We will spend the night in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Back home

Leisure time and explore Kathmandu until the departure time when you will be transferred to airport and fly back home.
