My husband and I had a wonderful three weeks in Nepal, thanks to Tulsi and his crew at Nepal Sanctuary Treks. From being recognized by our driver the moment we stepped out of the Katmandu Airport to when we were delivered back to the airport by Tulsi, himself, the arrangements and the care were outstanding.
We signed up to hike the Manaslu Circuit. We hit a major snag early on when unseasonable monsoon rains and heavy snow at high elevations led to numerous landslides. The Nepali police temporarily closed the route and we were stopped at our first village for four days. Tulsi had a backup plan for a different trek in case we did not have time to complete the Manaslu Circuit once it opened. And our wonderful guide and porter, Tsering and Tsering, graciously agreed to extend the time away from their families if we wanted to proceed with the Manaslu Circuit once the route opened.
We decided to wait it out and are so glad we did. The varied terrain, beautiful scenery, and cultural aspects of the Manaslu Circuit were amazing. The two Tserings did a great job of alerting us to the hazards of the trail (because of the many landslides), figuring out a good pace for us so we could enjoy and finish the trek and, securing lodging in what was a scramble because of the temporary trail closure. The hotels Tulsi reserved for us before and after our trek were comfortable, culturally interesting and, in some cases, historic. Our interactions with Tulsi and our guide, porter and drivers felt personal and allowed us to get glimpses of life in Nepal outside of the trekking world.
We would heartily recommend Nepal Sanctuary Treks for anyone contemplating a trip to Nepal.
