Manaslu Circuit trek (GHT) difficulty is considered strenuous due to high altitude, rugged terrain, and sustained physical effort over 14 to 18 days.
Trekkers ascend from about 930 m to 5,160 m at Larkya La Pass, where oxygen levels are roughly half of sea level, increasing the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). The Manaslu Circuit trek difficulty is most evident during the Larkya La crossing, the most challenging day of the trek.
This section requires 8 to 10 hours of walking over steep, rocky, and sometimes icy terrain. Trails include narrow cliffside paths, landslide-prone areas, and uneven stone steps, adding to the overall Manaslu Circuit trek difficulty.
The trek’s remoteness limits road access, electricity, and medical facilities, and solo trekking is prohibited. Trekkers must travel with a licensed guide. Strong endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and leg and core strength are essential for daily 6 to 8-hour walks while carrying a 5 to 10 kg daypack.
