(The Ultimate trekking in the Nepal Himalayas)
For centuries, Nepalese and Tibetan traders traveled over the high mountain passes, bringing salt, brocades and gold from the high Tibetan plateau to the verdant
valley of Kathmandu and middle hills of Nepal, returning with bronze, brass, rice and the exotic offerings of the subcontinent. Modern politics and the passage of time have little affected this trade and one may still meet these merchant with their beribboned mule teams along these time-worn trails and share experiences over a cup of tea or glass of “chhyang” in the little inns that yet cater to the needs of bed and board.
Visitors may now avail of these same trails to explore the vast Nepalese countryside as yet un reached by tarmacked roads and stop-off for simple fare and bed in one or other of these little village lodges, run today as they have since time began by the erstwhile Thakali people where one gets a little closer to local folks as you eat and sleep in the modest inns they have now improved the quality with electricity and some of them have modern toilets and bathrooms for trekkers.
All you need to bring with you will be your personal gear.
Accommodations and meals will be provided at these small inns but the best one available, which are recognized by NST. Trekkers accompanied by a guide who leads you into the mountains and arranges your meals and accommodations at these places and porters who will carry your bags.
